Peace Piece
………………………..After the song by Bill Evans
Somewhere there are no bombs,
no bloodied bodies,
no orphaned tears.
Somewhere clouds slow dance
in a blue sky, a mild breeze
parts sunflower fields.
Somewhere someone’s lips
brush against a peach-
colored cheek.
Somewhere crystalline clarity
echoes through the soft
curl of night.
Somewhere arpeggios of hope
sweep across a keyboard,
a trill of cool.
Somewhere someone wrote
a serenade of serenity
in the key of calm.
