Solo
Hear this sonic siege,
improvised vibrations sent
soaring through veins and
shivers as if a rift in a junkie’s
jubilee.
It’s all jazz man, a pious odyssey from this earthly
plain to make loving simple again and replete
souls as when young, prayers once sincere and
accounted are now prolific clues to an insoluble
puzzle.
Listen to the spontaneity of wit,
serenity in a hawk’s flight or the
arousal of a woman’s twitching
navel before her sudden belch.
Beckon such beauty. Swoon in
bouquets so gently to land with
the flutter of a dragonfly on rose
pedals – pretty there in the midday
heat and know this, too, is
sublime.

Rob Yedinak’s previous publishing credits of over 20 years ago include Hook and Ladder, Lucid Moon and Medicinal Purposes. He has only recently started writing again because of certain inspirations, but against his better judgement. He writes vignettes fraught with neurosis, perversion, noir, contrast, relief and an occasional inside joke only the author would laugh at.
