I like The Jazz We listened to Roland Kirk and Eric Burdon sing of Roland Kirk And the hum of the freezer Roland borrowed a phrase from Coltrane and I borrowed a phrase from Williams while peering into windows and smashing bottles on wet pavement But the sound of breaking glass isn't omniscient like the sound of the horn Then spherical breathing brought to rest with sweaty nakedness and the need for water Panting and the phrase is subtle I can keep rhythm w/ Roland better than w/ 'Trane but I'll be damned if'n my heart don't explode
