Forest Flower Sunrise/Sunset
A black orpheus, Charles Lloyd, calls the sun to
waken, to sleep, with his horn. Music her very source.
She rises in the east, her radiant eyes open
the dawn light, fanfare streams across the land.
In the stream golden yellow, red-orange koi swim
in a pond, glance at the reflection before them.
In the stream pink porpoises frolic to the light.
Music with all its colors shimmers above.
In the stream great pandas feeding their young
stop. A morning ritual broken as they listen.
Sun sets in the west, her arms fold on the horizon,
her eyes close as black night descends.
We join the stream of music in sun’s descent.
Softly into morning glow she rises again.
