Middle East a hotbed
Thousands of years spread
Stones, swords, spears
Bombs, missiles, drones

Targeting astray
Girls’ school blown away
Collateral damage
Friendly fire escapades

Explosions echoing tide
Cries won’t subside
No matter how loud
I play my jazz
